Your role

About the team:

The OpenSearch R&D team of Amazon Web Services Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Lab is recruiting an applied scientist internship, with a focus on server-side development. OpenSearch is an open-source search and data analysis suite. It is designed to build solutions for data-intensive applications, with built-in high-performance, developer-friendly tools, and integrated with powerful machine learning and data processing functions. It can provide customers with flexible data exploration, enrichment, and visualization functions to help customers discover valuable information from complex data. OpenSearch is the foundation of the existing AWS managed service (AWS OpenSearch). The OpenSearch core team is responsible for maintaining the OpenSearch code base. Their goal is to make OpenSearch secure, efficient, scalable, extensible, and always open source.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Develop user interfaces using front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and TypeScript/Javascript.
  • Learn to use Node.js to provide service interfaces for user interfaces.
  • Understand and practice the development/deployment/security review/release process of industrial-grade front-end products.
  • Understand and practice the use of the front-end framework React.
  • Participate in product requirements discussions and propose technical implementation solutions.
  • Work closely with outstanding development teams at home and abroad to learn the process of code development and review.
  • Write high-quality, high-performance, secure, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Apply advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to enhance user experience.

About you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate student in computer science, software development, or related majors.
  • Familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Good programming skills and a basic understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Love front-end development and have a strong interest in programming and learning new technologies.
  • Have good problem-analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Good English communication skills and spirit of teamwork.
