Your Role

The candidate’s responsibilities include the following:

  • Gaining experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures and developing a skills and knowledge base. This will include keeping up to date with relevant Environmental Legislation, Policy, and Guidance etc; 
  • Becoming familiar with Arcadis’ safety procedures to promote a culture of Safety First and ensuring H&S issues are adhered to in your day-to-day role; 
  • Analysing data effectively and undertaking desk-based studies,and site visits and site-based works, when required;
  • Phase I and Phase II Assessments; including undertaking site investigations, soil and rock logging, soil and groundwater sampling, and in situ testing;
  • Completing project documents to the high standard Arcadis requires in accordance with project timescales and budget, client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice, and supporting senior colleagues as and when required.

About You

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Good teamwork spirit, good communication skills in Chinese and English
  • Actively comply with "Health & Safety" regulations
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • A dedicated member of staff who is engaged with Arcadis Asia
  • Acquired a relatively complete knowledge framework in risk assessment and remediation of contaminated land
  • Willing to travel (~40%) in China, and to undertake site-based work 
  • Experience in soil, water, groundwater or gas sampling
  • Knowledge of China's environmental legislation and regulations
  • Have knowledge of China Environmental Assessment (Phase II)
  • 0~3 years of experience in environmental consulting
  • Conducted Phase I/II projects in the field and associated reporting
  • Manage Phase I/II projects on site and submit relevant reports
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering (or similar)
  • Basic computer skills (Internet access, Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, database)
  • Have the ability to learn quickly and have a spirit of exploration.

Desirable

  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering (or similar major)
  • Led Phase I/II projects in the field
  • Field Management Phase I/II Project
  • Participates in environmental audit programs
  • Exposure to remediation design and wastewater treatment processes
