Culture at Chevron Australia

8.0
8.0 rating for Culture, based on 20 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
after hours with other graduates is decent and improving. With the team and others is not much. A lot of "get in, do the work and get out" mentality which is not necessarily a con but something to note.

The team works well together but is lacking in team-building/ social side. Very work focused team culture.

The culture amongst the Horizons graduate program is very fun and welcoming. It is enjoyable experiencing the difference in culture between the office and on-site.

The culture in my workplace/department (specifically my team) is heavy on giving/receiving feedback, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, and supporting innovative ideas within team members and management. The team that I am in is high on collaboration. Work gets distributed to a number of people and project reviews are done regularly (agile) by multiple people. The team is also very open to sharing knowledge and capabilities.

As a graduate everyone is very happy to help and support you in your role. Smaller teams make up bigger functions and departments. Teams are often cross disciplinary so you get to work with people with different backgrounds and expertise. Lots of opportunities for networking and social activities.

The culture in the offices is very good - people are very friendly and helpful for the most part. I have heard there are some specific areas of the business where the culture is not so good, and there are some problem individuals.

Culture is great - we are not expected to work overtime and reminded to have good work/life balance. Teamwork and cooperation is encouraged. Opportunities to socialize with colleagues through regular team building activities, social club events and sporting games outside of work.

I really like the work culture - everyone I work closely with has been incredibly supportive, and there's an emphasis on helping everyone else succeed and sharing knowledge and experience, rather than any kind of competitive feeling that people are only looking out for themselves. As a new graduate, this has been incredibly valuable.

Chevron has an overall diversity and inclusion friendly environment which is great. However, given there a mostly aged employees, it can be challenging to be accepted and incorporated in work and into the teams that graduates are to rotate between when you are the youngest and can be judged and stigma-ed for being young and unknowing.

Great culture in the office with plenty of time to mingle within work hours. Lots of opportunities outside of work hours within the social club and the graduate program
