This dual entry/early career professional, product/customer-focused position serves as a technical liaison between Cummins Field Service and Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to proactively identify, prioritize, and implement short and long-term solutions to product issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of more experienced team members, investigates product or system issues, understands cause and effect mechanisms, proposes appropriate actions, and documents results.
Apply and support product problem-solving processes, such as the seven-step problem-solving method, and tools, such as the product development roadmap, to achieve high-quality maintenance activities.
Prepares service channels to facilitate efficient service activities, confirms parts and special tools are available, service information (including diagnostics) is accurate and translated, and special attention can be provided to new product customers.
Collaborate with technical experts on failure analysis and data trending to implement end-product solutions to reduce customer downtime.
Manage large-scale development or problem-solving projects.
Develops problem solutions for moderately complex components, products, systems, subsystems, or services of increasing technical complexity and ambiguity as experience is gained in this position.
Independently executes established work processes and systems while developing technical or product knowledge; participates in system and process improvements.
Participates in basic direct personnel management but may also coordinate and direct efforts among technical staff and/or temporary student workers.
Effectively contributes to team goals, influences within the work group, and continually improves abilities critical to success in the position.

Product Failure Reporting and Corrective/Preventive Action System - Define and lead the process using cross-functional reviews, rigorous problem-solving methods, failed part transfer processes, data management tools, and project management practices to document, prioritize, and resolve product failures to effectively improve product reliability.
Product Problem Solving - Resolves product issues using processes that protect customers; identifies non-random causes; implements comprehensive, data-based solutions; and identifies systematic root causes and recommended actions to prevent recurrence.
Product Suitability Requirements and Audits - Develop and publish procedures that technicians must follow to safely repair and maintain products while ensuring that repairable components are processable.
Technical Account Management - Represents Cummins with the customer by being the interface for all technical considerations; provides engineering data, documentation, and training to the customer to support the design and integration of equipment; ensures the customer's business is not disrupted by managing changes to Cummins products by using the change process and communicating regularly with product development and the customer.

Education, Qualifications, Certifications:
An associate's, bachelor's, or equivalent degree in engineering or a corresponding STEM field is required.
Certain positions may require a graduate (Master's) degree related to the area of expertise.
This position may require a license related to compliance with export control or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Entry-level/early career professionals. Candidates with experience in temporary student employment (internships, cooperative education, or other extracurricular team activities) or working as early career professionals in related technical disciplines are preferred
Proficiency in MS Office tools is also preferred
