Your role

Job Description:

  • The ideal candidate will play a role in supporting the market research projects, translating customer research information into valuable insights that will shape the company's strategic action plan
  • This position is suitable for someone with a passion for market research and an interest in understanding China's automotive industry and consumer landscape
  • A technical understanding of market research, both qualitative and quantitative methodologies is preferred

What You'll Do:

  • Support in planning and execution of primary market research compliance to methodologies, cross-functionally coordinate with global and local teams
    • Develop sample plans, and questionnaires, and support stimuli development and review process
    • On-site coordination with partners and vendors for research fielding, qualitative interviews, and workshops; Support set-up and quality management
  • Support in creating research reports timely and communicate key findings effectively with team members and project stakeholders.
    • Collect and analyze data for customer and market insights
    • Slide design and draft report with good storytelling sequences
    • Support function team review
  • Deep dive into demographic, customer journey satisfaction, and vehicle usage scenarios of Lux/Ultra-Lux customers
    • Independently perform desktop research and data analysis on primary and secondary research data
    • Interpret customers’ data into market insights and future industry trends
    • Develop research reports with good storytelling sequences

About you

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 3rd year or 4th-year undergraduates or graduate students majoring in English, Business, Statistics, or Sociology are preferred
  • Excellent in English and Chinese communication, both speaking and writing, and proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivation, quick learner, strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Good knowledge of the auto industry is preferred

Training & development

General Motors offers a 10 - 12 week internship program that allows students to apply their skills, gain experience, and unlock their professional potential. In addition to the day-to-day hands-on work experience, GM provides professional development programming, networking opportunities with GM leaders, and more. Note that for this internship you must have the ability to commit to a minimum of 6 months to ensure continuity and impact on long-term projects. It also requires 3 days or more of work per week.
