We know how important it is to have the right skills, both for your future and ours. By building this skillset now, we’ll help you develop the agility to keep learning new skills throughout your career.
Over 18 months, you’ll get to:
- See how we connect businesses to opportunities through our Relationship Managers and digital capabilities
- Rotate between Relationship Management teams that work directly with our clients, or Credit Analyst teams that analyze companies’ creditworthiness and provide them with lending solutions.
- Build your own relationships with clients to better understand their needs, and support Relationship Managers in pitching for new business.
- See the bigger picture by working with teams in other areas like Global Trade (providing services and finance for buyers and suppliers), Product Management (creating new digital services to improve our customer experience), and support functions like Risk (developing policies and processes to protect us and our clients)
- Explore the Commercial Bank’s wide-ranging opportunities to progress your career – both locally and internationally – including the chance to become one of our leaders of the future.

What you'll learn
We’ll help you develop the technical skills most relevant to your role. We’ll also provide plenty of opportunities to advance your non-technical skills, like communication and collaboration, that will help you move your career forward successfully.
During your time on the program, you’ll:
- Join our Accelerating Your Strengths Programme, which will help you use and continue developing your strengths while you’re with us
- Build your knowledge of the products and services we offer our clients, including Trade, Payments, and Transaction Banking.
- Develop your understanding of the risks involved in Commercial Banking and how we mitigate these. For example, writing credit papers, exploring the macro environment, and putting covenants and securities in place
- Benefit from Personal Development Plans and 360 feedback, so you can measure your progress against an established framework and set goals to further improve yourself
- Learn how to incorporate Environmental, Social, and Governance issues into our solutions so they become more sustainable and support our Net Zero ambitions.
- Have plenty of other opportunities to develop your skills, and people to support along the way, so that you’re well prepared for the future
Virtual work experience
Try our virtual work experience in Digital Business Services. You’ll get a feel for the type of work this business area undertakes, the activities you could be involved in, and the skills you would develop in the program.

Requirements:
- Available to work full-time from July 2025 onwards
- Obtained, or expected to achieve, a 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA or equivalent 2.1 degree from a recognized University (as appears on your official University Transcript or Degree Certificate)
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Legally permitted to work in mainland China
Additional Information:
In-person/virtual assessment centers are planned from November - January. We encourage you to apply early as we review applications on a rolling basis and may close this vacancy before its closing date if all roles are filled.
