Over two years, you’ll get to:
- Join our community of Data Analysts, who are our information powerhouses, delivering valuable insights that allow us to know our customers and business better
- Help transform HSBC into a truly data-driven organization by ensuring that every design decision has a built-in data consideration and that people develop a data-led culture
- Work closely with global delivery teams and senior stakeholders to connect the processes, data, products, services, and technology that underpin our success
- Collaborate with colleagues around the world to understand the bigger picture and use data to develop a compelling narrative that tells their story
- Take ownership of various pieces of analysis and learn about the different tools we use, including SQL, Python, Spark, and R
- Be involved in developing, executing, and supervising programmes and policies that protect, deliver, and enhance the value of our data and information assets

What you'll learn
We’ll help you develop the technical skills most relevant to your role. We’ll also provide plenty of opportunities to advance your non-technical skills, like communication and collaboration, that will help you move your career forward successfully.
During your time on the programme, you’ll:
- Become a skilled data practitioner, with strong capabilities in areas such as analytics, Cloud, Machine Learning and AI
- Get involved in Cloud platform development and deployment, architecture security and solutions, and help show how business, data and technology domains are linked together through reference architectures
- Complete training designed to hone your fundamental skills and knowledge in areas like data movement, governance, management, regulatory and MI reporting
- Have plenty of other opportunities to develop your skills, and people to support you along the way, ensuring that you’re well prepared for the future
Virtual work experience
Try our virtual work experience in Digital Business Services. You’ll get a feel for the type of work this business area undertakes, the activities you could be involved in, and the skills you would develop on the programme.

Requirements:
- Available to work full time for 2 years commencing July 2025
- Obtained, or expected to achieve, a 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA or equivalent 2.1 degree from a recognized University (as appears on your official University Transcript or Degree Certificate)
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Legally permitted to work in mainland China
