Your HSBC journey will be built upon - and thrive with - your skills.

We know how important it is to have the right skills, both for your future and ours. By building this skillset now, we’ll help you develop the agility to keep learning new skills throughout your career.

Over two years, you’ll get to:

  • Explore our Global Private Banking and Wealth business, which focuses on the wealth management needs of our Ultra High Net Worth and high-net-worth customers
  • Complete rotations with various client-facing teams, where you'll learn how we develop wealth management strategies, and advise clients on their wealth planning and investments
  • Spend time with other areas of our Wealth and Personal Banking business, learn about the different capabilities each brings, and see how we work collaboratively to make our services even better for our clients
  • Lay the foundations for a successful career in Private Banking, in areas such as Relationship Management, Investment Counselling, and Product Development

Who you are

We welcome students from all degree disciplines and backgrounds, particularly those with a passion for technology.

It takes a broad range of skills to be successful at HSBC. We're looking forward to seeing the mix of skills you’ve learned so far, and hearing about the unique perspective that you’ll bring to our teams. We’ll help you learn everything else.

To join us in this program, you’ll need to be:

  • A diverse thinker with a global mindset who believes in putting the customer at the centre of everything we do
  • Keen to build relationships and collaborate with all kinds of people to get the job done
  • An excellent listener who’s not afraid to speak up and share their own ideas
  • Somebody who understands that gaining the necessary knowledge and experience to succeed takes time

What you'll learn

We’ll help you develop the technical skills most relevant to your role. We’ll also provide plenty of opportunities to advance your non-technical skills, like communication and collaboration, that will help you move your career forward successfully.

During your time on the program, you’ll:

  • Join our Accelerating Your Strengths Programme, which focuses on your strengths as assessed during your recruitment to help you use and develop them while you’re here
  • Have plenty of other opportunities to develop your skills, and people to support you along the way, ensuring that you are well prepared for the future

Virtual work experience

Try our virtual work experience in Digital Business Services. You’ll get a feel for the type of work this business area undertakes, the activities you could be involved in, and the skills you would develop in the program.
