The Jetstar story

Jetstar first commenced operations in Australia as a domestic airline in 2004. Since then the airline has changed the face of flying in Asia Pacific. People who once couldn't fly, now can, and often.

The Jetstar Group operates out of Australia and New Zealand, with joint venture partnerships in Singapore, Japan and Vietnam.

As an integral part of the broader Qantas Group, Jetstar is an innovative and agile business – no two days are ever the same!

Jetstar’s Flying Start program provides cash and free travel to selected community groups and organisations in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Jetstar seeks to minimise its impact on the environment by using fuel-efficient aircraft, investing in the latest technology and offering the Fly Carbon Neutral program, which allows passengers to offset their share of the carbon emissions generated by their flight.   

The recruitment process

Jetstar’s two-year program offers graduates a diverse, exciting and supportive environment designed to develop both your technical and behavioural capabilities, and prepare you to excel as the future leaders of the Jetstar business.

Candidates can apply for either the Generalist stream or the Finance and Analytics stream, and will experience four 6-month rotations.

To be eligible to apply you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, have completed a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree, be available to commence employment with Jetstar Airways in February and be able to attend key stages of the recruitment process in person if requested.

Remuneration and Benefits

Jetstar graduate salaries are competitive and comparable with other entry-level and graduate programs in the market.

A key perk for those who enjoy travelling (and who doesn’t?) is heavily discounted staff travel fares to destinations all over the world. And not just for yourself but also for your nominated ‘travel companion’. You’ll also be eligible for discounts on accommodation, car hire and travel insurance. 

Jetstar also an employee recognition program, which gives those are nominated for awards access to vouchers for various companies and more travel perks.

The Jetstar Graduate Program

How would you like to be part of a high performing team, all working to make the world more accessible?

Our two-year rotational graduate program offers a diverse, exciting and supportive environment designed to develop your technical capabilities and prepare you for future leadership positions.

Our generalist graduate program offers four 6-month rotations across a variety of departments including: safety, engineering, ground operations, networks and planning, sales and marketing, corporate communications, digital, product and ancillary revenue, revenue management, customer care, strategy, IT, and human resources.

We also offer finance streamed graduate positions, involving at least two rotations in two different finance areas, with the remaining rotations taking place across other parts of the business.

Whatever program you choose, you’ll be thrown in the deep end from day one, working on dynamic projects where you’ll learn about our operations from end to end. Don’t be surprised if our CEO and Executive Leaders want to hear your opinions too!
