Your role

About Forensic Services:

PwC Forensic Services assists clients in detecting, responding to, and remediating issues relating to fraud, bribery & corruption, and other economic crimes. In China, the team has extensive experience in assisting companies to conduct internal investigations, perform risk assessments and due diligence, and enhance corporate compliance programs. The team helps clients respond to time-sensitive crises, solve important problems, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and business risks.

The team services multinational and local clients in a wide range of different industries, including the pharmaceuticals, medical devices, financial services, automotive, manufacturing, technology, and consumer goods sectors.

Job description and responsibilities:

As a leading Forensics practice, its cutting-edge, professional approach combines forensic accounting, forensic technology, and data analytics, as well as traditional business consulting skills.  

  • The Associates assist in the day-to-day execution of client work, as well as practice development support.
  • As members of either the Forensic Accounting or Forensic Technology sub-teams, Associates take part in forensic assignments, including fact-finding reviews related to fraud, misappropriation, and bribery & corruption, for a range of clients in China.
  • The Forensic Technology team supports complex investigations through the acquisition of electronic evidence and advanced data analytics.

About you

Degree Requirements:

PwC is looking for high-caliber tertiary students from all disciplines but with a preference for Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Management for Forensic Accounting, and a preference for Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Electronic Engineering for Forensic Technology.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (CN offices: fluency in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written is essential, HK office: fluency in spoken and written English is essential, fluency in Mandarin is an advantage)
  • Well-organized and able to work independently
  • Team player who works effectively under pressure
  • Strong interest in the field of Forensics
  • The desire, commitment, and ability to obtain relevant professional qualifications (e.g. CPA or appropriate technology-related certifications)

Preferred Skills for Forensic Technology Candidates:

  • Computer / mobile forensics, eDiscovery, and information security
  • PC and server hardware, operating systems, and server email software
  • SQL and RDBMS design concepts
  • Programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, etc.
  • BI/data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview, etc.
  • ETL and data preparation tools such as Alteryx, SSIS, etc.
