Corporate & Investment banking - Trainee (Feb 2025)

Your Role

Key responsibilities are as follows:  

• Assist the Team Head in managing corporate client relationships to position Societe Generale as a long-term partner.  
• Identify and develop client relationships aligned with the Bank’s strategy, including sustainable financing and positive impact transactions.  
• Collaborate with business lines to pitch suitable financing solutions and advisory services. 
• Promote cross-selling of banking products to diversify revenue streams.  
• Develop detailed client plans for resource planning in line with business strategies.  
• Support new client acquisition, including onboarding and compliance processes.  
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders for new business requests and portfolio reviews.  
• Prepare E&S memos, credit applications, and marketing materials for client meetings.  
• Conduct market research relevant to clients' industries.  
• Assist in special credit-related projects and support other corporate credit analysts.  
• Build and maintain a network of key decision-makers among corporate clients. 
• Occasional business travel is required.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:  

• A Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.  
• At least 1 year of experience in financial risk analysis or as an assistant corporate relationship manager; additional experience in banking is preferred.  
• Strong accounting and financial analysis skills.  
• Basic knowledge of commercial banking products.  
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.  
• Team spirit and fluency in English and Mandarin.  
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
