Join Tesla's Drive Systems team to integrate cutting-edge autopilot features and ensure firmware maturity for new hardware.
Your Role
Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Integrate autopilot features like adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking.
- Ensure smooth and safe power application to wheels, including hill hold and one-pedal driving.
- Manage thermal systems and map drive power requests to motor power.
- Ensure firmware maturity for new hardware introductions.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Current pursuit of a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and comprehension of C/C++ or similar integration software languages.
- Experience with electronic circuits, testing, and debugging microcontroller/embedded/electromechanical projects.
- Knowledge of embedded systems and communication protocols like CAN.
- Experience with low-power wireless networks, preferably Bluetooth Low Energy or Ultra Wide Band.
- Familiarity with vehicle dynamics and hydraulics is a plus.
- Experience with FSAE, Hyperloop, Solar Car, or similar student teams is a plus.
- Hands-on experience debugging complex systems with networked microprocessors and software-controlled devices.
- Understanding of hardware and software development processes.
