Engineering Intern (Start ASAP)

Your Role

Meet your team:

Cloud ERP User Experience drives SAP’s UX mission across the entire Cloud ERP solution portfolio with an amazing, multidisciplinary team of application designers, user researchers, developers, architects, and more. To enable a user-centric development of products, SAP is providing guidelines, tools, and services, such as the SAP Fiori design system.

What You'll Do:

• You will work as an engineer in agile development teams, and contribute to all phases of the sprint process from conceptualization to delivery.  Also join in with prototyping, DevOps, and quality assurance phases of the process.
• Develop innovative and engaging frontends for enterprise applications for industry-leading companies.
• Recommend appropriate technologies and libraries to be used in the client-side stack.
• Staying abreast of the latest developments in technology and industry best practices and identifying where they can be incorporated to bring continual improvement to engineering practices and processes.
• Embrace the Agile process, be self-empowered, take ownership of, and responsibility for your work; collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and other teams.
• Works under general supervision and/or with a team on assigned tasks and/or projects of moderate complexity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other designers.

About You

SAP is looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

• University student taking Computer Science or related field.
• Can work for a minimum of 4 days a week for at least 4 months or longer.
• Knowledge of building highly scalable and reliable web applications with high standards for security leveraging state-of-the-art technology stacks and tooling.
• Sense for quality assurance and experience designing and implementing functional tests as part of the development process.
• Knowledge of modern backend technology stacks based on Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring data, Spring security, Spring boot, Spring cloud) and JPA/Hibernate/EclipseLink.
• Knowledge and hands-on project experience in data stores like MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, etc.
• Familiarity with containerized applications and container orchestration like Kubernetes.
• Should be willing to work on UI/Frontend frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, as well as fluency in both oral and written English.
• Enthusiasm for SAP technologies and AI.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated, quick learner, able to adapt to changing requirements or situations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with initiative.
• Strong visual design skills and attention to detail.
• Good time management for meeting assigned deadlines.
• A flair for innovation and a result-oriented mindset.
